I opted for a pheromone moth trap as a non-toxic and odourless alternative to traditional scented traps, as I wanted to avoid due to having small children at home. Setup: The pack includes ten traps, each individually wrapped in foil. Assembly is simple; the traps fold into triangular prisms containing a glue surface infused with odourless pheromones (undetectable to humans) to attract male moths. Then peel the paper backing off the glue to prime the trap. Each trap also comes with a cardboard hook for hanging, though I found this a little bulky on a packed clothes rail, and you have to be careful as the glue can cause mess if it touches clothing. There’s space on the main box to mark the setup date for one trap, but I found it easier to set reminders on my phone to replace the traps after the recommended 90 days. This also makes it easier to set multiple dates if not all opened at the same time. In use: I placed two traps in separate cupboards for 30 days to monitor activity. The product claims the pheromones remain effective for 90 days, but after 30 days, the traps were empty. This might indicate that no moths were present rather than an issue with the traps themselves—I haven’t noticed any damage to my clothes either. Additional considerations: The traps use female moth pheromones to lure male moths, but they won’t affect female moths or their larvae, which are the real culprits behind clothing damage. These traps also work well to detecting infestations or reducing male moth populations rather than acting as a comprehensive deterrent. While they seem practical, I can’t confirm their effectiveness yet. I’ll update this review after 60–90 days if I notice any changes or catch moths.

It is hard to say if it works or not on cloth moths, because maybe it is not the season or I do not have any? But when I assembled it, very easy by the way and withthout any noticeable odour, and left on the shelf for almost 2 weeks I noticed something very strange. It was full of gnats when I came back home after Holidays! And I had huge problem with them trying to use every gnat solution possible. I do not know if they just stick to the glue or were they attracted by the pheromones, it's hard to say. So, in conclusion, I am very pleased with this product. I hope it will work on cloth moths too.

As I have a super small house I've started storing a bunch of my clothes and fabrics in the garage, and moths have way easier access to this than inside my bedroom wardrobe so moth protection is a must now. While moth season is currently over so I won't get much use out of these for a while, I still get peace of mind knowing that my clothes are protected just in case. Plus, this is over two years of protection, not even counting the months you won't actually need them. At £16, that's incredible value so I'm still going to be hanging them in winter too. They're are super easy to use, and are individually wrapped but also prepped. You just need to unfold them and place. You can hang them on rails with your clothing, or sit it nearby on a shelf if you don't have room. I have open rail hangers in the garage, but if you have a closed wardrobe or storage trunk, the shelf option will still work fine, as they'll be diverting there rather than finding a way inside your clothes box. As long as you're not crowbarring it between your coats and there's enough room, your clothing won't get stuck to it. They can also be used in conjunction with lavender bags or sandalwood hangers, for the ultimate moth forcefield. Great value!

Back in the summer, I had a bit of a problem with carpet moths. I’ve tried a few methods to get rid of them with varying degrees of success. Although they’re not around at the moment, I intend to be well prepared. Positives: Arrived in a box with instructions printed on the back. Non toxic, so no problems for children or pets. Each trap is sealed in its own foil pouch. Each trap lasts for 3 months and there are 10 in the box, so 30 months supply for £15.99; excellent value for money. Like the idea of recording the date each trap is opened so no worries about forgetting to change the trap. Negatives: Not a negative as such but traps shouldn’t be in contact with clothes due to glue transfer, which is difficult to remove. I can’t comment on the efficacy of this product as I haven’t used it yet but it’s ticking all the right boxes for me; no odour, non toxic, long lasting and good value.

These are very useful and effective moth traps however they are only applicable to one of three types of months that can invade a home. Easy to set up and hang and last about 3 months.

I have been using these pheromone traps for a few years now and they are excellent at keeping moth numbers down. What I particularly like about these is they come in a reasonably attractive cardboard contaniner. The traps are incredibly sticky so containing them in a cardboard outer is a really good idea.

To be honest the middle of winter is not the best time to catch these critters unless they have taken over your home. My wife and I used to own a shop where we sold fairly expensive clothing mostly made of natural materials and using Moth traps became the norm both at our shop and at home and we still have them in the house all year round. Clothes Moths will take any opportunity to get established so having a few of these about the house means you can keep an eye out for when they get active. I have always found that if you move these about you will find little hot spots. Anyway they look fine and hopefully should also work OK.
